Excel is hardly the most convenient writing tool available for marketers, yet some clients insist that you write their content in this format.
Oh well: the customer is always right, even when they’re not. There are many ways to make word processing better in Excel, this is one of the most helpful ones.
Want to count the number of words in an Excel cell? If you’ve written in cell A1, just post this formula in another cell:
It should look like the image below. As you can see, the green arrow points to the formula you need to enter, and the blue arrow shows the resulting calculation.
If you’ve written your text in another cell, just substitute the references to A1 with the name of the cell you’ve written in.
